With a repertoire of symphonic and choral masterworks of all periods, Argentina-born conductor Daniel Canosa has led orchestras and choruses in Argentina, the U.S., and Europe.  He is the Founder, Artistic Director and Conductor of the Apollo Baroque Orchestra, a first for the Sierra Foothills, and Founder and former Conductor of the Camerata California, a chamber choir and orchestra.  He served as the Artistic Director of the Bay Area Rainbow Symphony.  Prior to coming to California, Mr. Canosa was Music Director of the Nieuw Amsterdam Barokorkest en Koor, touring extensively in The Netherlands, Belgium, and Germany.

Mr. Canosa studied Baroque repertoire under Argentine maestro Sergio Siminovich in Buenos Aires and conductor Nicholas McGegan in Berkeley, California.  His formation includes courses at the Mozarteum Conservatory in Salzburg and in Munich and Paris with Sergiu Celibidache, Music Director of the Munich Philharmonic.

Michael Mello
Michael, Director of the San Domenico Singers and Director of Liturgy at San Domenico, received his MA in Early Music Studies from Stanford University.  As organist, pianist, choir director or choral singer, he has participated in productions and concerts of Marin Opera, Marin Civic Light Opera, Dominican University, Pacific Mozart Ensemble, and the Marin Symphony Chorus.  He especially enjoys working as an accompanist to singers.

Betsy Levine-Proctor, Ph.D.

Dr. Levine-Proctor is Co-Founder and Executive Director of Marin Baroque.  She sings with the Mayflower Community Chorus and was a member of the California Redwood Chorale for several years.  She performs with The Wildflowers, a woman’s ensemble, and has done solo work with Mayflower Singers Presents.   As a choral singer, she has performed in Canada, the Czech Republic, Hungary, and Portugal, with a trip to Ireland with the Mayflower Chorus planned for 2013. Dr. Levine-Proctor, a Clinical Psychologist in independent practice, is a longstanding member of the California Psychological Association (CPA) and the Marin County Psychological Association (MCPA).  Her involvement with MCPA has included several Board positions.  She currently serves as CPA Treasurer.
Marla Volovna (mezzo-soprano) made her operatic debut in Besancon, France, as Adalgisa in Bellini's Norma and went on to sing leading operatic roles in France.  After receiving her graduate degree in opera directing, Ms. Volovna became the main stage director for the Apollo Opera Company.  She continues to freelance as a stage director, and has given master classes in voice and acting in China and, most recently, for the School of the Colon Theater in Argentina.  She has taught in universities for a total of 13 years and continues to concertize and teach voice in San Francisco.
